Mike Kunkel, Music Director

Mike Kunkel is thrilled to serve as Music Director at St. Barnabas Anglican Church in Fort Worth, where he leads the choir and weekly worship services with a passion for music that lifts hearts and glorifies God. A Haltom City native, he was raised by two strong Christians, Elmer and Linda Kunkel, who modeled authentic faith and shaped him into the servant leader he is today. He earned his Bachelor of Music Education from Texas Wesleyan University and his Master of Education from Abilene Christian University. He met his wife, Cindy, at Texas Wesleyan while playing in the Wind Ensemble. Cindy faithfully sings in the St. Barnabas choir while Mike serves at the piano and organ. The couple married in 1990 and God has blessed them with two children, Zach and Alyssa, and son-in-law Matt. Part of the Anglican communion since 1990, Mike brings over 35 years of experience directing volunteer choirs and ensembles across the Dallas-Fort Worth area. He is deeply honored to lead the musical ministry of St. Barnabas and looks forward with great joy to many years of creating beautiful music that glorifies God and draws this faith family closer to Christ.
